BSP Enhances Online Banking Experience

Fiji's leading financial services provider, BSP, has launched a new BSP Fiji Mobile Banking app in recognition of the fast-growing use of smartphones in Fiji.  

The app is an extension of the Banks enhanced online banking solution now relaunched as BSP Online Plus and empowers customers to access their accounts using a desktop computer or via a mobile device.

BSP Country Manager Mr Kevin McCarthy announced the $5.5 million dollar investment was designed with customers in mind. "As a growing Bank in the Pacific, we have always been on the leading edge of providing great solutions to our customers' needs."

With over 50% of Fiji's population now accessing the internet via a mobile phone[1], BSP's mobile banking app is a timely product that will lift the standard of Fiji's banking services.

 "It makes sense for us to deliver our services using this channel," he added.

A few highlights of this new service includes:

Mobile Top Up on any mobile network - customers can top up mobiles on either Vodafone, Inkk or Digicel

Enhanced Security - A Factor 2 Authentication feature is now available via SMS, using a hard e-Token or a soft token app to protect our customers' money, personal information and privacy. 

The BSP App will also allow users to:

  • Top up phones on any mobile network: Vodafone/Digicel/Inkk
  • Pay bills to the major service providers (Energy Fiji/ WAF/ Telecom, etc.) and the many registered BSP Billers (Courts, Carpenters, TLTB, LTA, municipal councils, etc. - 43 to date)
  • Set up payees on the go
  • Schedule payments
  • Make recurring payment schedules
  • View account details and balances for savings and loan accounts
  • Make transfers between their own accounts
  • Make payments to other BSP accounts or external Bank Accounts

Mr McCarthy confirmed that this new technological advancement delivers improved functionalities which can be accessed on mobile devices with internet connectivity and compatible operating systems.
