BSP $16million Core Banking System Upgrade Begins

BSP announces that it will cut over to a new core banking system over the weekend from Friday (4.9.15) to Monday (7.9.15).

BSP announces that it will cut over to a new core banking system over the weekend from Friday (4.9.15) to Monday (7.9.15).  This $16million project to transform the Banks' core banking system began two years ago following a period of pre-project planning and design.

BSP Country Manager, Mr Kevin McCarthy was delighted to make the announcement saying that the new core banking solution will further help BSP realise its vision to be Fiji's leading financial services provider, helping customers, staff, shareholders and communities prosper.

"I am pleased to inform our customers that this investment will improve our customer's banking experience," said Mr McCarthy.

This major upgrade will equip the Bank with the flexibility and robustness to roll out new products faster across our wide service channels.

The project was implemented in partnership with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) a global leader in IT services, digital and business solutions who are renowned for their ability to simplify, strengthen and transform businesses.

"The upgrade of the TCS BaNCS platform will greatly enhance BSP's use of the core banking system functionalities, simplifying key processes and decentralising operations to their front offices.  This will make BSP's core banking system one of the most current in the region, better enabling the bank to deliver world class customer service to Fiji"," said Colin Sword, Country Head, TCS Financial Solutions, Australia.

To allow for the migration to take place, BSP operations will close early from 2pm and 3pm for Operations Centre and Branches, respectively, on Friday (4.9.15). We reopen at 9.30am on Monday (7.9.15).

At 5pm on Friday, SMS and Online Banking will be taken offline and resume at 6am Monday (7.9.15).  Customers are urged to complete their phone top ups, funds transfer, bill pay, and other services, prior to the downtime period.

For customers who have scheduled payments using "Scheduled Payments" or "Bill Pay" during this downtime period, please note that it will not happen and they must adjust the payment date to ensure it takes place.

This is applicable during this downtime period only and other payments scheduled outside this downtime window will not be affected.

From 11pm Saturday (5.9.15), all BSP ATMs and EFTPoS terminals will be offline and resume at 6am Sunday (6.9.15).
