BSP's Microfinance Team today added another trophy to their cabinet after scooping 2nd place in Reserve Bank of Fiji's Microfinance Banker Service Provider of the Year 2015.
The Awards this year were themed "Bringing out the Best" and BSP Head of Microfinance Isikeli Taoi certainly did that by leading his team to second place. BSP this year, have already won an award from the Fiji Institute of Bankers and now in the RBF programme have improved on ratings from last year.
"We have made huge progress this year. This is reflected in that we were placed above all other banks. We still have a long way to go. There are some key initiatives that we're still working on implanting in the coming year,'' says Mr Taoi
"Our major investments in our system changes, partnership with TLTB and Post Fiji has all contributed to our impact in the rural sector."
Mr Taoi paid tribute to the excellent leadership of BSP and sup-port of all departments which enables his team to go out every week to the rural area to conduct their work effectively.
"Most people now see us as the true people's bank, so whenever they see the colour green when we go to villages we are al-ways accorded a reception which always inspires us to work harder."
Last year, BSP shared 3rd place with a competing bank.
This year the first place went to South Pacific Business Development (SPBD) whose main business is microfinance.
Our passionate, energy and experience with rural customers helps in our service delivery every day," Mr Taoi said.
