BSP, Fiji's leading bank donated an additional $10,000 to FENC Fiji to support the educational needs of Fiji's underprivileged children.
"Without a doubt, the best way for people to break the cycle of poverty is to gain an education. FENC does great work in providing access to education for the most needy in our society so that people can break that cycle," said BSP Country Manager, Mr Kevin McCarthy.
Earlier this year, BSP in partnership with FENC Fiji donated $13,000 to provide educational assistance to help over 200 children affected by the floods in the West.
"Our support for FENC Fiji since its inception has been over $43,000 and we are proud to witness their proven track record of supporting the underprivileged children of Fiji," added Mr McCarthy.
The donation was received by Ratu Meli Vesikula, the Co-Chair and Co-founder of FENC Fiji.
"We thank BSP for your loyal support for this important work. Every year, BSP has been supporting us and whenever there has been a natural disaster, BSP has stepped forward. So, on behalf of the children, we thank you," said Mr Vesikula.
This most recent donation by BSP is earmarked to fund the education of 20 or more students across Fiji, from Class 1 to Secondary level.
In keeping with their Mission of providing educational assistance for the children of the poorest of the poor families in Fiji, FENC Fiji has managed to see that 1000 children stay in school through donations such as this.
