"We are delighted to provide this service which all mobile users can access, provided they open an account with BSP; and register for Billpay," commented Mr Kevin McCarthy, BSP Country Manager.
"We thank our partners in this project whose support made this service possible, namely: Digicel; Vodafone; Water Authority of Fiji; Fiji Electricity Authority; Telecom; Housing Authority; Fiji TV; Unwired; Kidanet; Tower Insurance; Courts Fiji Ltd; Nasinu Town Council; Suva City Council; and Fiji Revenue & Customs Authority," Mr McCarthy said.
"Today, we are also excited to officially launch our Top Up with 290 service, which is a free Top Up text number with no text charges," mentioned Mr McCarthy.
"What it means that BSP customers that have registered for Top Up, who have no more credit on their mobile phone, can simply send their Top Up text message to 290 free of text charge; and directly top up their mobile phone from their BSP account," Mr McCarthy explained.
Another distinctive feature offered by the BSP SMS Top Up with 290 service is that you can top up other registered mobile numbers. For instance, you could top up your husband's, wife's, friends', sister's or brother's mobile phones, provided that you have registered their mobile numbers with BSP, which are in the same mobile network as your phone.
Additionally, you can even use the free text Top Up with 290 service to Top Up your Digi Modem, Flashnet or Web Box.
"We consistently strive to improve our banking services using the latest technology, to maintain our vision of being the leading bank in Fiji and the South Pacific. In this respect, we are offering our customers more convenience and choice through our multiple electronic banking channels," added Mr McCarthy.
