Staff and students of Cuvu College will today celebrate the completion of their Water Tank Project in a handing over ceremony at the school.
Two 10,000litre Water Tanks were installed by the Sigatoka BSP/CNB Branch staff as part of their community project.
BSP's General Manager-Corporate & Community Services, Howard Politini said, "the initiative reflects BSP's commitment to support communities in Fiji in the areas of education and health which this projects demonstrates. BSP desires to play a significant role and make a difference in the lives of people through the $20,000 allocated for community projects to each BSP bank branch around the country."
The bank's Sigatoka Branch Manager, Ms Susie Fesaitu said, " the community project presented a new outlook for the team and we thoroughly enjoyed working together with the school management. The knowledge that the water tanks will make a huge difference to the lives of the students and teachers, now and in the future gives us a great sense of achievement that this type of support will go a long way."
In responding to BSP's contribution to the school, the Acting Principal, Mr Mohammed Farook thanked BSP team for their timely donation and said that their water crisis has now been resolved. "Students will now spend more time learning than fetching water from outside sources. Their sanitary woes will be a thing of the past with water now flowing in abundance." He also acknowledged the support and effort made by the BSP/Colonial staff of Sigatoka in erecting the foundation for the tanks on week days after work.
