During the presentation of the BSP branded gear to the Digicel 7s team at the Suva Peninsula Hotel, BSP Country Manager, Mr Kevin McCarthy, announced a reward of $250 to the team each time they did the "hand-made heart" on the Adelaide and Hong Kong leg of the 2010 IRB 7s series.
Today BSP invited the Digicel Fiji 7s team to their Namaka branch to make good our promise.
In welcoming the team back home, Mr McCarthy thanked the team on representing Fiji. "Although the results did not go Fiji's way we appreciate the sacrifices individual players have to make. BSP is a co-sponsor of the Digicel Fiji 7s team. We are there for the team through thick and thin," said Mr McCarthy.
A total of $8,750 cash was shared by the 12 players on the tour party. "We counted 31 hearts and added an extra payment of $1,000 to that," Mr McCarthy said.
The payment was presented to the players at a small ceremony at the rebranded BSP Namaka Branch by Mr McCarthy.
On the rebranding of Namaka branch and Nadi branch Mr McCarthy said "this is the look you will progressively see at our branches all over Fiji. Our vibrant green colour depicts the desire to be bright, modern and energetic. The bank logo with the slogan 'your bank' features three Kundu drums. Drums are a common musical instrument in the Pacific used for communication and celebration."
BSP's current campaign is branded "love your bank" which features people making "hand-made hearts." There has been extensive coverage on TV commercials, radio and print advertisements. "We are overwhelmed with the positive response to this by the people of Fiji," added Mr McCarthy.
