BSP in the community

Since storming into the Fiji market in November 2009, BSP committed $400,000 for community projects by bank branches around the country.

By November 2010, BSP bank branches around the nation completed over 25 community projects.

The following projects were completed by bank branches in the health,environment and education sectors of the community:

Savusavu Special School-repainting of school classroom block

St Teresa School-renovations of old wooden classroom block

Natawa Indian School-construction of footpath & renovated vacant classroom into Library.

Cuvu College-installation of 2 x 10,000l water tanks

Gospel School for the Deaf-repainting of school building

Lautoka Special School-Repairs to roofing damaged by cyclone & construction of Green House

Natovi Catholic School-cleaning & grass cutting of school compound and donation of 2 brush cutters.

CWM Dental Clinic-renovations of waiting area

Nukuloa College-construction of Green House

Suva Special School-renovation of classroom block

Maharishi College-construction of drainage and Green House

Deshbandu Primary School-Repainting of classrooms

Savusavu Baby Clinic-Renovations of Baby Clinic

Valelevu Health Centre-Renovations of Baby Clinic

Levuka Heritage Projects-restoration of historical and cultural sites in the town

Niusawa High School-renovation of a vacant staff room

Tavua Primary School-installation of 2 x 10,000l water tanks

Vatukoula Primary School-installation of 1 x 10,000l water tank

Rakiraki Health Centre-renovations of the Health Centre

Nausori Health Centre-renovations of the Baby Clinic

Sabeto Primary School-renovation of a vacant classroom and Library.

Tavua Dental Clinic-renovation of clinic and waiting areas

Labasa Old People's Home-renovations of waiting area

Rishikul Primary School-construction of a play centre

Lomolomo Public School-renovation of pre-school classroom

Vatuwaqa Blind School-repainting of school gymnasium

Namosi Primary School-renovations of classroom block

 

Over and above these community projects, BSP donated $100,000 towards the Cyclone Mick relief efforts with $50,000 going to the Prime Minister's Relief and Rehabilitation Fund, $30,000 to Habitat for Humanity for the restoration of damaged homes around the country and $10,000 each to Red Cross and Save the Children Fiji.     

 

Throughout the year BSP also donated a reconditioned computers to the following schools:

1. Nausori Special School in Vunimono, Nausori.

2. Vunimono Sanatan Primary School in Nausori.

3. Rambisessar Chaudary in Sawani.

4. St Agnes Primary School in Nabua, Suva.

5. Delana Methodist High School in Levuka, Ovalau.

6. Lomaivuna High School in Naitasiri.
